Victorian Christmas in Nevada City

A Classic Victorian Christmas Date in Nevada City

While technically not in Sacramento, a road trip to Nevada City will transport you back to the days of yuletide treats, gas lamps, petticoats, and Charles Dickens. During the holidays, the small town transforms into a Victorian festival so famous that it became the setting for a Hallmark Christmas movie.

The festival is a treat for all the senses, with a sparkling Christmas display, the scent of roasted chestnuts, and the sounds of carolers singing their favorite holiday tunes. While the festival is for the entire family, there are plenty of adult libations. Impress your date with a thoughtful, handcrafted gift from one of the craft vendors.

Price: The festival is free, but since parking is tight, shuttle rides are $5 per person

Dates / Days available: Wednesday, December 15th from 5:00 - 9:00 pm and Sunday, December 19th from 1:30 - 6:00 pm

Location: Park on Spring Street, Union Street, or the Nevada County Government Center at 950 Maidu Ave., Nevada City. The shuttle runs to and from the Government Center.
